Landscapes of Birds Point

On May 2, 2011, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers detonated explosives in the Birds Point Levee. As part of the flood plan for the Mississippi River, 130,000 acresbehind the levee , primarily farmland, were flooded to prevent even more devastating floods downstream. Nearly four months later the region is adjusting to the post-flood landscape.
